I\u2019ve enjoyed making it for many years. There are many different flavors and variations of panna cotta. However, I like the simple ones, which combine only the freshest ingredients.<\/p><p>A few weeks ago, for Mother\u2019s Day, I prepared a strawberry panna cotta as a special dessert for all the moms celebrating their day at the restaurant. This dessert is a rich blend of cream and fresh strawberry flavors. Just imagine it: strawberries and cream\u2014how could you go wrong? The combination of flavors is perfect, creating a light yet strawberry-licious finale to their meal. The recipe is quite straightforward. However, some people find it challenging to work with gelatin sheets. These sheets need to be soaked in cold water for 5 minutes to soften before using them. You\u2019ll have a wonderful dessert, perfect for Mother\u2019s Day!<\/p><div id=\"print-me\"><h2>Strawberry Panna Cotta<\/h2><p><strong>(makes 12, 4-ounce ramekins)<\/strong><\/p><h3>Ingredients<\/h3><ul class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredients\"><li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\" data-uid=\"0\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit-system wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit-system-1\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">2<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">pounds<\/span><\/span>\u00a0of\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">fresh strawberries<\/span><\/li><li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\" data-uid=\"0\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit-system wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit-system-1\">1\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">cup of\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">whole milk<\/span><\/li><li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\" data-uid=\"2\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit-system wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit-system-1\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">4 sheets of gelatin or 6<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">teaspoons<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">unflavored gelatin powder<\/span><\/li><li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\" data-uid=\"4\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit-system wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit-system-1\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">1<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">cup<\/span>\u00a0of<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">granulated sugar<\/span><\/li><li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\" data-uid=\"5\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit-system wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit-system-1\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">2<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">teaspoons<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">vanilla extract<\/span><\/li><li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\" data-uid=\"6\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit-system wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit-system-1\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">3<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">cups<\/span>\u00a0of\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">heavy cream<\/span><\/li><\/ul><h3>Prodedure<\/h3><ul class=\"wprm-recipe-instructions\"><li id=\"wprm-recipe-34105-step-0-0\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Place twelve 4-ounce ramekins on a baking sheet and set aside.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-34105-step-0-1\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Puree the strawberries until very smooth. Push the puree through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the seeds and set aside.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-34105-step-0-2\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Add the milk to a medium saucepan. Sprinkle the gelatin evenly over the surface (if using powder gelatin) and let stand for 10 minutes.<\/div><\/li><li>If you are using gelatin sheets, soak them in a bowl of cold water for 5-10 minutes. Then, squeeze the water out with your hands and place it in the milk saucepan.<\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-34105-step-0-3\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Add the pureed strawberries, and sugar to the gelatin mixture. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches 150\u00b0F on an instant-read thermometer. This should take about 3-4 minutes.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-34105-step-0-4\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Remove from the heat and whisk in the vanilla. Set aside and stir frequently until the mixture cools to 120\u00b0F, about 10 minutes.<\/div><\/li><li class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Now whisk in the heavy cream until well combined.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-34105-step-0-5\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Strain the mixture into a large measuring cup or pitcher and distribute evenly among the ramekins.
