About the Author

Sassa Aissou – Poet, Athlete, Dreamer

Born in Algeria, Sassa Aissou grew up where rhythm, light, and language pulsed like a second heartbeat. A celebrated athlete and Olympian, she carried her nation’s flag at the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Games — embodying the endurance, courage, and grace of her ancestors.

Her path later led her to New York City, where she transformed her lifelong devotion to art and poetry into a new creative home. Through every word and brushstroke, she explores memory, belonging, and the divine rhythm that connects all hearts.

Between continents and generations, Sassa lives as many selves — athlete, poet, artist, mother, and seeker of light — each one a reflection of her belief that love and art can transcend distance and time.

Her debut collection, Echo of My Heart, is both a memoir and a prayer — a testament to resilience, beauty, and the unending journey of the human soul. Within her golden heart, she carries the pulse of three worlds, united by one voice.
